Errors processing SSAS 2005 Cube against SQL 2000 database

Hi,

I am receiving the following erros when i try to deploy/process my cube. The source db is Sql Server 2000, could this be the issue? I have a connection created (have tried both OLDB providers - SQL Native client and MS OLDB provider) and I am supplying a sql server user name and pass word (datareader permission in db). The 2005 SSAS service is running under a local user account so authentication is not possible using that account. And I have tried various settings under "Impersonation Information" with no luck?

SQL 2K5 sp1 on Win XP sp2

Sql 2k (sp4) on Win2k server

Thanks!

First try and see if you connect to your SQL Server 2000 from AS machine.

Login into AS machine under credentials of your local user account and try connecting to your SQL Server machine.

The credentals many customers choosing for their Data Source object is ImpersonateServiceAccount.

Please note. Once you saved user name and password as part of your connection sting, you will have to re-submit username and password every time you update your datasource.

Errors processing SSAS 2005

Hi,

I am receiving the following error when i try to deploy project.

Error 1 The following system error occurred: .

AS 2005 SP1

Windows Server 2003 Ent. SP1

Make sure Analysis Server is runing. Go to the project's properties and make sure your project points to the Analysis Server.

Can you also describe the error. Is it a single error. Are there more errors? Is this the first time you are trying to deploy?

Hello Edward!

On your questions: Analysis Server is runing - Yes, project points to the Analysis Server - Yes

Is it a single error - Yes. Is this the first time you are trying to deploy? - No, The error has appeared after the server became DC.

New projects are developed normally, All cubes old and new process is normal.

|||

This could be very much as a result of your computer becoming domaing controller.

Can you connect to Anlaysis Server from SQL Management Studio?

Try deleting everything from the data folder and restarting Analysis Server. This cause you to loose all of your databases, make sure you have you projects saved so you can re-create databases again .

If that doesnt help, the only solution I see is to try and re-install Analysis Services.

Errors Deploying an SSIS package

Hi All,

I hope someone can help becuase this problem is issue us several headaches.

We are currently trying to deploy an SSIS package to a production server. The deployment goes fine, the package runs ok when executed manually. The issues start when we try and execute it under the SQL agent.

Having gone back to the drawing board and spent much of the day reading various articles and applying the various options (especially those within the MS KB article 918760), we are still no closer to a resolution.

The SSIS package was created under an Administrator, and the SQL agent runs under a different Domain Admin account.

When we set up the Schedule to read from SQL Server or the SSIS Store the standard "Executed as user: DOMAIN\USERNAME. The package execution failed. The step failed" in the history.

We tried to create the package as a file access and now get "Package could not be found" even though you can browse to i in the schedule list. The Domain account as full access to the folder where the package resides.

Has anyone else come across this issue, or have a workable solution?

Many TIA.

But does the SQL Server service account have access to everything? Not the Agent user, but the SQL Server service account?|||

Phil,

Thanks for the assist, adding access rights the SQL Server Account ot the database helped, and it seems to have fixed one issue in that it now adds the /Decrypt item to the when saved as EncryptWithPassword, and stores the information.

We have decided to run the package from the SQL server rather than a file, However we still get the same permission error when running the job in SQL agent.

Any more ideas?

This KB article maqy help

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918760

|||

Thanks for the Pointer Rafael, but we have already tried to apply the workrounds mentioned in the articles with no joy.

I'm coming to the conclusion that MS have really over done the security model for SSIS, I still pondering what the point of of the EncryptWithUserKey setting is as most jobs will generally need to be scheduled and run under the SQLAgent account.

Error:sql mobile encountered problems when opening the database

I am trying to deploy my mobile app to treo 700wx, but when i test the app, the application gives me an error message:

sql mobile encountered problems when opening the database

It happens when I sync data.

However, when I sync data users and customer info, it doesn't give this message, But when I sync (third time) order info, this message comes out.

--when i run on my PPC (HP ra1950), there is no this error message.

I think it is a bug?

BTW, which cabs file should I install on the Treo phone? (.Net ce, sql ce mobile30 ?)

Please help me out. Thanks

James

This problem may be caused by not disposing the replication object. Make sure you always dispose all the data related objects.

Error: Unable to load one or more of the requested types.

When I'm trying to deploy a SQLCLR assembly , I get the following error:

Error: Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.

This is an error you get were you cannot get the assembly types during reflection.

I was able to deploy it previously, and I'm not aware of any change I made that could make it refer to a different external type.

It has a reference to another SQLCLR assembly that was successfully deployed. If I remove all the references in in the code to classes in that assembly, it works OK, so it looks that it cannot load this other assembly when trying to deploy the first one.

Is there any way to troubleshoot this? Getting that 'LoaderExceptions property' could be useful..

Any other hint?

Thanks

Are you using reflection against types that are in assemblies that are also registered in the database? or these are assemblies that are were not registered using CREATE ASSEMBLY? if it's the later, that's by design, you cannot load assemblies that were not registered with SQL Server.

|||Thanks Pablo.

I run into this issue again today, and it looks like a VS.NET thing.

I create two projects, one with an enumeration:

public enum MyEnum
{
MyValue,
MyValue2
}

and another project with a reference to the first one, that declares a variable of that enumeration type

MyEnum myEnum;

Then when I try to deploy the second project, I get

Error: Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.

But, I execute the CREATE ASSEMBLY commands, then it works OK. The weird thing is that in my real world case, I could deploy the assemblies without any problem and now I cannot.

So, it looks like a VS.NET issue. I'm not sure which is the right forum to post it ;)

|||Please make sure that the top level assembly was compiled against the version of the referenced assembly that is in the assembly.

- Balaji Rathakrishnan|||It looks that it was caused by a versioning issue. Even if I tried that before, it looks that setting a '1.0.0.0' version fixed the problem.

Thanks a lot.

Sir,

i am also facing the same problem.

first i refered the assembly from local. at that time it is working properly.

but now i moved assemblies to GAC ,now it shows the above mentioned error.

i seen the abve answers.

can u tell me how to run the CREATE ASSEMBLY commend.

thanks
