I am recieving following errors while running SQLH2
can you advice how can i resolve them
Errors:
1.InvalidOperationException Cannot read log entry number 4243737.
2.NullReferenceException Object reference not set to an instance of an
object.
3.Event Log There is no gap in history, but the
previous last event
is out of bounds
What version of SQLH2 are you running? I hope it's updated version
(2.0.024).
1. Quote from SQLH2 V2 Deployment Guide
Cannot read log entry number ###.
This error usually indicates that the event log on the target machine is
corrupted. It's easy to verify using Event Viewer - try to open the
suspected event log and check if you can read events from it (sometimes
Event Viewer is able to show the list of events, but an actual attempt to
read some events fails).
I would need more inofmation regarding the other two.
Please send a mail to SQLH2@.microsoft.com
(with your H2log.txt attached).
Thanks
Grigory

ERROR: There is no data for the field at position 20
This error is displaying in the log file just prior to this entry:
ERROR: Internal error: System.Web.HttpException: Cannot redirect after HTTP
headers have been sent.
The report is being called and displayed using the out of the box Report
Manager with all current updates. It is a periodic problem with the
user-facing error displaying smack dab in the middle of the page in a middle
column of the report.
Can anyone provide any help in resolving this intermittent issue?I had the same problem.
We are using an alias for our server name and the following file was causing
it to redirect in the background to the real server name which was causing
authentication to fail especially through the proxies.

the real name. I'll change it to the alias and see if we still encounter the
problem. Thanks for the help!

Error: The index entry exceeds the maximum length of 900 bytes
Hi,
while trying to insert I get the error msg. (despite of Microsoft SQL Server
2000 sp3)
"Server: Msg 1946, Level 16, State 4, Line 3
Operation failed. The index entry of length 986 bytes for the index
'IndexName' exceeds the maximum length of 900 bytes."
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;280744
The number of entries is about 11400, last id = 11889.
Any ideas? What is a temporary index? Is it possible to extend this limit?
Regards,
BerndBernd,
I suspect you have a varying column (n/varchar or varbinary) indexed. While
you can add these to an index, index rows cannot exceed 900 bytes.
Therefore, if the combined datalength of all columns in your insert that are
included in a single index is > 900, the insert will fail. Try the
following example to see what I mean:
CREATE TABLE #IndexTest(ColA INT, ColB VARCHAR(1000))
GO
CREATE INDEX VARCHARINDEX ON #IndexTest(ColB)
Go
INSERT #IndexTest VALUES (1, REPLICATE('0', 900))
INSERT #IndexTest VALUES (2, REPLICATE('0', 901))
GO
SELECT * FROM #IndexTest
GO

length of all key columns in an index cannot exceed 900 bytes but using the
new INCLUDE syntax, you can add extra columns of any length to an index
record - thus creating a query covering index.
