Errors: Event Ids 17055 and 19011.

Hi everyone,
Occasionally we get timeout errors in our custom applications, which are
inserting/updating data.
They seem to coincide with the following errors:
Event ID: 19011
SuperSocket info: ConnectionListen(Shared-Memory (LPC)) : Error 5.
Event ID: 17055
17113 :
initconfig: Error 32(error not found) opening 'D:\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL\data\master.mdf' for configuration information.
We cannot determine the cause of the errors.
Any help will be appreciated.

You may want to try the workaround first to see if it
works for you.
Generally, random issues can be caused by various
factors, and it is difficult to locate the root cause in
a newsgroup thread. If the issue still exists after you

a support incident and work with a dedicated Support

sp_addlinkedserver and began querying that server. Our query was creating
threads that it could not close and created problems.
The MS article you mentioned talked about a hot fix, however, they also said
that the hot fix is in testing.
Does anyone know when the next hot fix will be out?

errors whan running backup plan

My event log has the following entries every day ( because the plan runs every
day)
SQL Server Scheduled Job 'DB Backup Job for DB Maintenance Plan 'Michaels Backup
Plan'' (0x8E4169EC6E0A93468357CC016A8A9186) - Status: Failed - Invoked on:
2004-02-11 02:00:00 - Message: The job failed. The Job was invoked by Schedule
20 (Schedule 1). The last step to run was step 1 (Step 1).
That error message follows four other entries like this.
Database backed up: Database: model, creation date(time): 2000/08/06(01:40:52),
pages dumped: 91, first LSN: 5:22:1, last LSN: 5:24:1, number of dump devices:
1, device information: (FILE=1, TYPE=DISK: {'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL\BACKUP\model_db_200402110200.BAK'}).
I seem to have all the backups in the folder that there should be, but then what
is happening with the first error message?
I also can manually make a backup without any error messages appearing so
something is wrong with my plan but what? it doesn't look that complicated to
set up.Do you have any other steps on this maintenance plan such as an integrity
check?

plan and check that report file?

So I removed the system databases leaving only my database from the backup
and it went fine. do I need to save the system databases differently? or at
all?

Yes, create a different maint pan for master, model and msdb and do backup
once a day... :-)

>|||There's no need to set the single user mode unless you check the dreaded
"Attempt to repair minor problems" under the integrity check part. I do not
recommend using this option at all. If I have a problem with a corrupt
database, I want to know that.

Not having much joy finding information about the following errors that are
appearing in the Event Viewer under Application:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSSQLSERVER
Event Category: (2)
Event ID: 17055
Date: 04/01/2005
Time: 14:37:09
User: N/A
Computer: SQ01
Description:
17066 :
SQL Server Assertion: File: <proc.c>, line=1576
Failed Assertion = 'm_activeSdesList.Head () == NULL'.

SqlDumpExceptionHandler: Process 3400 generated fatal exception c000001d
EXCEPTION_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION. SQL Server is terminating this process.
Both errors tend to happen quite a bit, and my Application Event log is
chokka with them.
Can anyone assist? If I've got the wrong newsgroup I do apologise, and
please point me to the correct one.

PeterThese are either (most likely) SQL Server bugs or data corruption. First step is to search for them
in BK and see if you find anything and also make sure that you are current on service pack etc. IF
that doesn't fix it, open a case with MS Support.
