Estimated Execution Plan Fails, XML Error?

Good afternoon, all. Whenever I try to use Query | Display Estimated
Execution Plan in SQL Studio on any non-trivial query, I get this unhelpful
message:
Error processing execution plan results. The error message is:
There is an error in XML document (1, 501).
There is an unclosed literal string. Line 1, position 501.
The only suggestion I've heard of is to instal SQL SPs, but that didn't
help. This is SQL 2K5 running on Win2K3. I don't believe there's any
strangeness like odd characters in instance names, and all language settings
are default. I've seen this before on another server, but Google has nothing.
Any ideas? Thanks!
I think I heard that the XML used for this can not handle some unusual
object names, but at best that is a long shot.

Errors when trying to run SQL

Ok, whenever I try to connect, I get the following Error messages:

"SQL Server Registration failed because of the connection failure displayed below.
SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
ConnectionOpen (Connect())"

"An Error 1069 occured while performing this service operation on the
MSSQLServer Service"

I even went as far as uninstalling and reinstalling, but to no avail. Does anyone have an idea what's causing this? It was working fine and then all the sudden one day I start getting these messages and it won't work.

Thanks!
SmittyYou using sql server security ot trusted connection?

Do you have a dba, or are you it?

Does anyone else have sa priviliges to the box?|||Thanks for replying Brett...

It's my own personal computer at home so I'm the SA and no one else uses it nor has the ability to. It is the 120-day evaluation edition that I got with the text book that I use for school. I don't understand, it worked fine then it didn't... :confused:

Smitty|||You past the 120 days?

I think it messes with the registry...

You can by a full blown version for $49.00

It just can't be used for production systems...

http://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/development.asp|||I suppose that's most like the case :( Guess I'll need to buy it sooner or later heh..

Thanks Brett,

Smitty|||If its for study purpose then you can uninstall the SQL and remove all registry keys referred to SQL Server, reboot and reinstall Evaluation edition.|||Thank you Satya,

My instructor told me to do the same. :D

Errors on Datasource.aspx page

I have an installation of RS 2000 on a Win 2003 server.
I've started getting an error whenever I access the Data Source pages
using the Report Manager.
The page loads OK. But I cannot make any changes. For example, if I try
to change the "Connect Using" options from "Windows Integrated
Secuirty" to "Credentials stored securely ...", the radio button shows
the selection, but the required text boxes are not enabled, In the
bottom left corener of the IE status bar, "Error on Page" flashes.
The server log files and event logs show nothing regarding the error.
This happens on all Data Source pages on this server.

Any ideas?

It sounds like some of the javascript files are missing. Try reregistering asp.net client files by running aspnet_regiis -c from \windows\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322.
