Errors when setting up Cube from Project Server 2007 in Analysis Server

We try to setup a cube from Project Server in our (seperated) Analysis Server.

Even though following all the instructions which can be found and equally we setup the repository in the SQL 2005 Server or use the .mdb, we run into the following errors:

[26.07.2007 12:19 PM] Analysis Services session failed with the following error: Failed to connect to the Analysis Services server SERVER. Error: Your permissions on the server computer do not allow you to administer this Analysis server.
Error:

[26.07.2007 12:19 PM] Failed to build the OLAP cubes. Error: Analysis Services session failed with the following error: Failed to connect to the Analysis Services server SERVER. Error: Your permissions on the server computer do not allow you to administer this Analysis server.

The Project Server Queue Service user is a) SQL sysadmin and b) SQL Server Admin group member - at least it became this after everything else didn't work out..

The correct shares etc. on filebase are given, even it is checked that the Queue Account can connect to the share from another computer, ...

So now I wonder whether someone else had this issue and can help out here?

Thanks in advance.

Hello! In order to set up an SSAS2005 cube you will need to have administrators permissions on SSAS2005.

I assume that SSAS2005 and SQL Server 2005 run on the same server.

Connect to SSAS2005 with Management Studio and right click on the server. Choose properties and the security tab(server wide security privileges) and the add the user who shoul have rights to deploy and process the cube.

I am having similar problems.

I have added the shared service provider to AS box. I restarted AS and I am still gettting the same error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Errors accessing VFP data.

I have a test system setup in Reading.
SQL Server is on machine EUK01314
IIS 5 also is on machine EUK01314
Reporting services are installed on machine EUK01314
Visual Studo is on machine EUK01314
I can create reports that access SQL server data, or via ODBC, or via OLEDB

I can use those reports from our Terminal Server, no problem.

Those reports work on EUK01314 in Visual Studio.
Those reports work on EUK01314 in IE via Report Manager.
So why on earth (or any other planet) don't they work on any other machine

PAulHi PAul :-)
I think checking the Deleted box corresponds to SET DELETED ON which
evaluates to DELETED=YES in the connection string so be sure to verify that
you're getting what you want. Sorry I can't help on the ReportingSvcs stuff.

Access databases (MDBs) on remote shares. Is the FoxPro database on the same
machine as the Report Server? At one point, we were incorrectly adding an
Integrated Security property to the connection string but this should have
been fixed.

Sorry for the delay, I've been away in Utrecht.
I started out with the evaluation edition, then installed the SP1 download
onto that.
I had no errors reported during the installation of SP1, so I assume it
really completed OK.
How can I find out what the connection string being used is?
I know what I typed into the Report Manager, but you're implying that
something else is actually sent.
If there's a way to debug this, I'd like to get to the bottom of it.|||Hmm. I'm not sure there is a trace for VFP. Is it OLE DB or ODBC? For SP1,
the string should be the same (we don't add the Integrated Security flag for
other providers). You can make sure SP1 was successful by looking at the
version under http://server/reportserver.

errorlog monitoring & job outputs

Considering email is setup, how would you send emails by scanning errorlog for any issues. Also, how to send program outputs using email.
Thanks...nobody has this kind of setup?|||Which mail, setup how?

-PatP|||email setup to send emails from SQL Server.|||Need more info from ya, Mkalsi...you can use xp_sendmail to do it...I have things setup to do what I THINK you are trying to do...

Although, this is probably more convoluted than you need...I wanted to try to make my messages a little more readable than just inserting the error message row columns from the EventLog table...

Anyway...check out the sendmail code near the bottom...that's the gist of what you'll need.

Keep in mind though, that there's a whole 'nother arm-wrestling match about permissions and user id stuff that must be in place to send mail from SQL Server 2000 through outlook - it was a tad more complex than just point-n-shoot.

after clicking ok for a dozen of such error...
the installshield wizard now says that...
error-1920. service mssqlserver failed to start. verify that you have
sufficient privileges to start system services...
and closes,without completing the installation.
i tried installing the msde separately..and it got installed.. and i was
even able to start and stop the services...

if you separately succesfully installed MSDE with the official Microsoft
package, I think you have to check this issue with arrayinformatics
technicians... perhaps their installshield script is not correct...

Error-14010-remote server not defined as subscription server

Running SQL Server Personal Ed (Server A) on Tablet PC (publication and distribution setup here) trying to push data to SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Ed. (Server B). When I start sync I get two failures. First is 'remote server not defined as subscription server'. Second, subscription to publication xx not valid (error# -2147201019). The snapshot is succeeding fine. What do I need to setup on Server B? I have the same db on both servers.

Try with running sp_addsubscriber 'Server B' to see if it will be fixed.|||

I did run sp_add subscriber only to verify Server B already exists. A subscription shows up on server B; listed as never started.

I have not been able to succeed this task.

Server A db properties-replication tab-configure-subscribers tab-set agent connection to subscriber to impersonate-rerun PUSH suscription-response-login fail for anonymous logon.

How to setup both servers to accept anonymous logon?

|||

This issue has been resolved.

Security settings was the problem on both servers.

thx..bt
